I’ve been working at Decisio as an advisor since the summer of 2016. With a master’s degree in economic geography, I mainly work on projects at that intersect with the fields of economics and space: urban and area development, regional and international economics. Examples of project types are regional-economic analyses, impact studies and social business cases. What I like most about my work is its versatility: to be involved in a project both in terms of content and process. I like the challenge of translating the (often large amount of) quantitative information into visually attractive, compact and accessible reports and maps. And then also to see how this result can help a client further.

And besides work?

Utrecht is my home. I live in the middle of the city centre and enjoy everything the city has to offer: running around the canal, my permanent ca around the corner, picnicking with friends when the weather is nice or having a drink in the park or at the city beach Oog in Al. At the same time you can’t make me happier than wearing a backpack on my way to the beautiful and special places of this world. Last year these were the Bolivian salt plains and Patagonia, this year the Spanish Navarre and Basque Country are planned. I can finally make good use of the Spanish courses that I follow.

Targeted projects?

Some examples of projects that appeal to me are:

  • Monitor ‘International employees in the Netherlands’ (via CBS Microdata)
  • Housing market analyses (supply and demand) international, including housing of migrant workers
  • Research into the accessibility of Dutch education for international children
  • Economic impact studies for e.g. TuDelft, Formula 1, Delta Technology cluster Zuid-Holland
  • Quantification and elaboration of environmental tasks from the National Environmental Vision (NOVI)
  • Economic and SWOT analysis Meuse-Rhine Euregio
