Smart Mobility

Smart mobility, Mobility as a Service (MaaS), Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Traffic Management as a Service (TMaaS), self‑driving cars, mobility hubs … all terms that have emerged in recent years. A lot is changing in the mobility sector thanks to the availability of ICT solutions, sensors, and data. Yet we often find that certain developments are being overhyped, partly driven by commercial and publicity interests. As a research and consultancy firm, we excel at separating fact from fiction and puncturing inflated expectations.

Multiple studies in the field of Smart Mobility

As researchers, we take a systematic approach to each question. What is actually changing? For which groups of travellers or types of trips does this matter? With these and other relevant questions, we develop well‑founded and realistic estimates of the impact of new developments.

Over the years, Decisio has carried out several studies in the field of Smart Mobility. Examples include:

  • Monitoring costs of Smart Mobility
  • Business case and value case for MaaS
  • Monitoring the international competitive position of ITS
  • Cost–benefit analysis (CBA) of digitisation and the release of Dutch road data
  • Business case for the Corridor Control Centre
  • CBA and business case for the iCentrale
